Sebastian Nierfeld

M.Sc. in Engineering

During his mechanical engineering studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Sebastian Nierfeld, born in 1989, was confronted with the constantly growing demand for innovative manufacturing technologies due to ever shorter product life cycles. The focus of his bachelor’s degree, which he completed in 2012, was on the field of generative manufacturing processes, whose increasing use in industrial mass production is the reason for the high innovation dynamics in this area.

In the subsequent Master’s program at the Institute for Product Engineering (IPE) in Duisburg, he deepened his knowledge in the field of product development and gained a profound process understanding of the generative manufacturing processes. He successfully completed his studies in 2014 with a Master of Engineering degree.

After graduation, Sebastian Nierfeld started working as a patent engineer and patent researcher in 2014 with the aim of being admitted as patent attorney in the patent law firm von Rohr.

With the passing of the European qualifying examination in 2019 Sebastian Nierfeld was added to the list of professional representatives before the European Patent Office – European Patent Attorneys. At the same time, he is currently studying law for patent attorneys at the FernUniversität in Hagen.
